The Truth About Christian Home Based Business

As a Christian, I used to be under the assumption that God was just going to work things out in my financial life some day. I depended on things like keeping a positive attitude and giving a lot of money to my church, to miraculously bring wealth to my hands. What I didn’t realize was that God had already blessed me with the ability to change my financial life. The problem was not that the enemy was stealing my blessings. The problem was with the way that I viewed home based business as a christian. I was led by faulty doctrine that taught that the only way out of debt was to “sow” your way out. There’s nothing wrong with sowing money into the lives of those who are in need, but there is something wrong with thinking that your business will simply fall into your lap without you first becoming competent in the area of home based business. Just because you are a christian, and you give a lot of money, does not guarantee that you will be successful in home based business. Let me share a lesson that I learned from the bible. In the book of proverbs, the writer instructs the reader to observe the behavior of the ant. The text also makes mention of the word sluggard which means “a lazy person”. If you ever watch the behavior of ants, you will find that the secret to home business success is planted in the lifestyle of these tiny insects. Let’s examine the traits of the ant for a moment.• Diligence: The ant is constantly moving. Not aimlessly, but purposefully. It is rare that you ever find an ant just ‘lounging” around. Ants are always busy. Get busy when it comes to home based business. You will not accomplish financial independence laying on the couch watching television.• Strength: Ants have the ability to carry up to 10 times its own weight, inside its mouth. They never allow the weight of what they are carrying to thwart the mission. Starting a christian home based business is not easy. You, too, will have to carry heavy loads in this business, but don’t allow the heavy things to stop you from reaching your goal of financial independence.• Team work. Ants almost always travel in packs. You will never see ants arguing over who’s going to do this or who’s going to do that. They work efficiently as a team. Every movement is calculated. The pack acts as a unit in order to accomplish the mission at hand. In home based business, you will need a team. The team doesn’t have to be 20 people, it can be just you and one other person. The point is, you will need help. Remember that old saying,” two heads are better than one?” This is particularly true when it comes to home based business. Starting your own home based business will require more minds than just your own.• Procrastination: Ants gather their food in the summertime. They do not wait until the weather gets cold to go out and find food. Ants do TODAY what needs to be done TOMORROW. Ants understand that food is in abundance when the weather is warm. Don’t assume that ants cannot tell that people do not picnic in the winter. It is for this very reason that ants invade our picnic spaces in the spring and summer: they are preparing for the winter. When it comes to home based business, don’t procrastinate. If something needs to be done, do it. If there are tools that you need, get them. Don’t sit around waiting for the perfect time because that time will never show. Being an entrepreneur means that you understand risk. Home based business is about risk, and if you are procrastinating because you are afraid of taking risk, you will not succeed at home based business.• Sacrifice: It always amazes me when I see a colony of ants approach a stream. In order to cross the water, the ants form a bridge, using their own bodies. They latch onto one another’s legs with their powerful jaws until the bridge is formed. The remaining ants are then able to cross the stream by walking on the backs of those ants who ultimately sacrificed their own lives in order for the colony to make it across. Our savior and Lord paid the ultimate price by laying down his life for us, so that we might “make it over”through HIS sacrifice. Are you willing to sacrifice what is precious to you so that others might have the opportunity to make it in life? The reason why I work so hard in my business is not for me only. My desire is that my great grand children will be able to have advantages that would not be possible without the financial, spiritual, and ethical foundation, that only comes by way of owning and operating my own business.I hope that you, as a christian, have a little more understanding of what it will take to be successful at running a christian based business from home.
